<p><b>MIT Technology Review</b> ist ein Magazin des <a href="Massachusetts_Institute_of_Technology" title="Massachusetts Institute of Technology">Massachusetts Institute of Technology</a> (MIT). Es berichtet über „Technologien, die das Leben verändern“. Zu diesen werden unter anderem gezählt: <a href="Informationstechnik" title="Informationstechnik">Informations-</a>, <a href="Biotechnik" class="mw-redirect" title="Biotechnik">Bio-</a>, <a href="Energietechnik" title="Energietechnik">Energie-</a> und <a href="Nanotechnik" class="mw-redirect" title="Nanotechnik">Nanotechnik</a>. Die Zeitschrift wurde ursprünglich 1899 vom MIT für seine eigenen Absolventen herausgegeben. Der Relaunch der Zeitschrift 1998 führte zu einem ungeahnten Erfolg. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit stieg die Auflage des Magazins stark an. Das Magazin ist Verleiher des <a href="TR35" title="TR35">TR35</a>-Nachwuchspreises.

<div class="mw-heading mw-heading2"><h2 id="Deutsche_Ausgabe">Deutsche Ausgabe</h2></div>
<p>Von August 2003 bis Dezember 2023 gab <a href="Heise_Gruppe" title="Heise Gruppe">Heise Medien</a> die deutsche Lizenzausgabe heraus, zunächst unter dem Titel <b>Technology Review</b>, ab April 2021 als <i>MIT Technology Review</i>.<sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Seit Januar 2024 erscheint die MIT Technology Review bei der Yeebase Media GmbH, die auch das Online-Portal <a href="T3n" title="T3n">t3n</a> betreibt und seit Ende 2021 Teil der <a href="Heise_Gruppe" title="Heise Gruppe">Heise Gruppe</a> ist.<sup id="cite_ref-2" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
</p><p>Bis Januar 2021 erschien die Zeitschrift monatlich, seit Februar 2021 erscheinen 8 Ausgaben pro Jahr.

<p>Mit Stand 2008 gab es neben der Hauptausgabe zusätzliche Ausgaben in <a href="China" title="China">China</a>, <a href="Deutschland" title="Deutschland">Deutschland</a>, <a href="Italien" title="Italien">Italien</a>, <a href="Spanien" title="Spanien">Spanien</a> und <a href="Portugal" title="Portugal">Portugal</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-Technology_Review_22.09_3-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Technology_Review_22.09-3"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>3<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Mit Stand Dezember 2025 gibt es neben der Originalausgabe eine arabische, chinesische, deutsche, spanische, italienische, japanische, koreanische und portugiesische Ausgabe.<sup id="cite_ref-4" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-4"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>4<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>

<p>Im vierten Quartal 2014 lag die durchschnittliche verbreitete <a href="Auflage_einer_Publikation#Zeitungen_und_Zeitschriften" class="mw-redirect" title="Auflage einer Publikation">Auflage</a> pro Ausgabe nach <a href="Informationsgemeinschaft_zur_Feststellung_der_Verbreitung_von_Werbetr%C3%A4gern" title="Informationsgemeinschaft zur Feststellung der Verbreitung von Werbeträgern">IVW</a> bei 21.218 Exemplaren. Das sind durchschnittlich 1.080 weniger Hefte pro Ausgabe (−4,84 Prozent) als im Vergleichsquartal des Vorjahres. Die Abonnentenzahl nahm innerhalb eines Jahres um durchschnittlich 486 Abonnenten pro Ausgabe auf 12.402 ab (−3,77 Prozent). Damit bezogen 58,45 Prozent der Leser die Zeitschrift im Abo.
</p><p>Seit dem 2. Quartal 2018 sind in dieser Auswertung auch die ePaper-Ausgaben enthalten.
